The sun rises - nothing has changed.
No food on the table - all things remain.
Dad's not around, Mom's tired and strained
No one to turn to - who is to blame?
Born in the ghetto, what chance do I have?
Is there a way out or should I give up?
Labelled at birth - no success in sight
Is there anyone who believes I can do life right?
I believe I can, so I'll go against the grain
I'll go to school every day and learn all I can.
I will make a difference in my neighbourhood.
I will let others know they can make life good and.
Where they are born does not determine where they go.
