1st John 1: 6
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth.

If we say that we have a relationship with God but are still living a lifestyle that is not in accordance with His word then we are still living in darkness or in sin and are fooling no one but ourselves because God knows the secrets of our hearts.

Psalm 44: 2b
says that ….. He (God) knoweth the secrets of our hearts.

Psalm 94: 11
says that …. The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man.

1st Samuel 16: 7b
says…...
For man looketh on the outward appearance but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Attending worship services every Sunday and doing good deeds throughout your community is great and a good outward show of a good religious attitude but it does not save you. Why?

Salvation is the gift of God

Ephesians 2: 8
For by grace (God’s undeserved kindness) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

The devil loves nothing more than for us to believe that by attending worship services and doing good deeds we are saved and going to heaven, but Jesus Himself gave us to only road to salvation in St. John 3

St. John 3: 3, 5 (Jesus explains to Nicodemus how a person is saved)
Jesus answered and said unto Him, verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(verse 3)

Jesus answered, verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(verse 5)

Observation

Examine yourself. See if you are living your life according to the word of God. If you discover that you are not where you should be in Him, don’t be concerned about what others may think, just get it right with Him as quickly as possible because once you are dead it’s too late.

A Prayer to Receive Salvation

Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died for my sins. I ask Your forgiveness of my sins and accept Your Son into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and because of this; I know that I can live a victorious new life in Christ. Thank You for my salvation.

Now complete the process of salvation by being baptized.

Acts 2: 38
..Repent and be baptized … in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins….
