Learning
to Understand God
1st John
3: 13
Marvel not, my brethren, if
the world hate you.
People are comfortable in their natural surroundings and become very uncomfortable when that surrounding is invaded by someone who does not belong – even if you were a part of their world before.
So, do not be surprised when the people who have not yet accepted Christ as their personal Saviour and been transformed by renewing their mind through careful study of the word of God hate you. It is just that light and darkness cannot be in the same place at the same time.
1st John
3: 14
We know that we have passed
from death unto life because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his
brother abideth in death.
When we do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ, we are spiritually dead. Once we accept His teachings and begin to abide by them, we become spiritually alive. This spiritual birth is marked by our love for one another.
If you believe that you have a relationship with Jesus Christ but in your heart you know that you don’t love someone – you actually hate them - please know that you are being deceived because the word of God tells us that if we don’t love our brother, we are actually abiding or living in death.
1st John
3: 15
Whosoever hateth his brother
is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Eternal life springs forth from love. John 3: 16 clearly shows us the love of God in sending His Son to die for our sins, so that we might have eternal life.
If you have any hatred in your heart for others, eternal life is not abiding in you.
Observation
A lot of people talk love but talk is cheap. Love that is not expressed by some form of action is not love. God gave us the perfect example of love by His actions, when He sent His Son to die for us. Jesus expressed His love for us by being obedient to His Father and being faithful unto death. How are you expressing your love for God and your fellow man?
A
Prayer to Receive Salvation
Dear
God, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died for
my sins. I ask Your forgiveness of my sins and accept Your Son into my life as
my personal Lord and Saviour. I believe that You
raised Him from the dead and because of this, I know that I can live a
victorious new life in Christ. Thank You for my salvation.
Now
complete the process of salvation by being baptized.
